Recent upgrades to lifescience.net platform include modifications of the Stream of content and changes to the Jobs module. Job posting is now free for academic research institutions.
As many of you already know, Life Science Network features the option to follow any author, topic or a place and in doing that create a personal Stream of content – research protocols, news articles, events and jobs. So far, only content that matched your preferences would appear in your Stream. Now, promoted content and content selected by our staff may appear in your Stream as well.
Promoted content may include, for instance, a job post that needs more exposure. An interesting news article chosen by our staff is another example of content you'll be seeing in your Stream. This content will be clearly labelled “promoted” or “staff pick”.
Promoted jobs will be those where employers select this option, as described on the Jobs module page. Staff-picked news articles will typically be those which are popular on Science Simplified platform.
Job posting
There is a change in posting policies for the jobs which we introduced a few weeks back. Free job posting used to be coupled with the use of our applicant management system. While we still recommend employers and recruiters to use our system for more efficient and interactive, collaborative recruiting, the condition to use our system in order to post jobs for free is no longer valid. All jobs from academia can now be posted free of charge regardless of how you wish the candidates to apply. Paid options are still available to those who wish to expose their jobs more.
Coming up
Next to come are smaller changes to platform design. Some of these you maybe already noticed on the home page. Further changes to the Stream are also coming soon, but we'll announce them when they are fully tested.
