Announcement Created on 02 Nov 2021 by Alen Piljić

Life Science Network (LSN) gGmbH was founded in Oktober 2011 in Heidelberg, Germany. Last week we celebrated our 10th birthday.

The organization was founded to develop an internet platform that would help scientists connect and exchange information in the life sciences. We developed the first version of the platform and launched it in 2013. It features multiple modules enabling sharing of different types of information, mechanisms for automated pooling of content, as well as automated filtering of content based on users interests.

LSN projects

Following Life Science Network, we developed five more platforms.

Scientific Today (www.scientific.today), initially called Science Simplified, is a science communication and outreach project aiming to assist organizations in analysing the efficiency of their communication and helping them improve it.

Science Human Resources (www.science.hr) is a career portal for scientists in academia and industry. The platform was developed to help defragment the global scientific job market.

Engineering Human Resources (www.engineering.hr) is a career portal for engineers.

Abstream (www.abstream.me) is a science journal content aggregator. The platform collects content from scientific journals and enables scientists to choose journals and define keywords to get notified when content matching their interests is published.

Science Events (https://sci.events) is a web platform developed to help scientists organise scientific events. The platform enables the creation of the event page, set up of registration and collection of registration fees and includes interactive event features.

Client work

In addition to the internal projects, in 2017 we started developing web platforms for other organizations. We developed an antibody reviews platform, a medical documentation exchange platform, a network of Ukrainian and German scientists and the epidemiology network, EPI-Net (www.epi-net.eu).

We would like to thank everyone involved, the team members, colleagues, collaborators, clients and visitors of our sites, for joining us on our journey and look forward to projects and challenges ahead.
