Compared with ground controls, ISS missions showed that spaceflight accelerates hallmarks of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) aging, including decreased dormancy in AI-driven FUCCI2BL HSPC niche nanobioreactors, reduced replating capacity and ADAR1 self-renewal gene expression, impaired telomere maintenance, mitochondrial stress responses, APOBEC3C activation, and acquisition of clonal hematopoietic mutations.
