Dark matter equivalency within the universe

Theoretical question Created on 11 Jul 2021

Details

Hello,

I had a question about the matter (pun intended) of how the distribution of dark matter and actual matter within the universe. I know that both matter and dark matter should be distributed equally within the universe, yet we have very little observable dark matter. My question is, this issue of matter and dark matter within the observable universe isn't equal but since the universe is constantly expanding is it possible that the outside barrier that the universe is expanding into (which we can't see and don't know what exists beyond that barrier) could everything outside of the observable universe be dark matter? And if that's the case, is the universe expanding into the dark matter and also being destroyed by the dark matter or anti-matter when it's expanding into the unknown. I'm sure I'm not explaining this very well but this was just a general idea/question I had and not sure if someone could explain this to me better. Is it possible that everything outside of the observable universe is dark matter that the known universe is expanding out into?
