Which antibody to use to detect EGFR using immunofluorescence? - Answered

Experimental question Created on 26 Jun 2013

Details

I'm working with HeLa cells and I know they express pretty high levels of EGFR. I believe I should be able to detect the endogenous EGFR in these cells in immunofluorescence experiments. Does anybody know a good antibody that can detect endogenous EGFR?

I use mouse monoclonal sc-101 and sc-120 from Santa Cruz. They recognize the extracellular epitope of EGFR and work beautifully in immunofluorescence. Endogenous EGFR in HeLa cells is easily detectable with these antibodies. I typically use them at 1:200 dilution on PFA fixed cells.
