Web development services
Since 2011, we have been developing web applications that help scientists connect, exchange knowledge, and communicate the results of their research to the public.
We have built the largest community of life science professionals (Life Science Network) and one of the largest scientific career portals (Science HR). Altogether, we have developed six web applications used by thousands of researchers working in all areas of science around the world.

Services
Aside from developing internal projects, Life Science Network gGmbH also offers web development services to the scientific and research communities. We have completed several client projects and contributed to EU consortia by providing our expertise in web development and data visualisation. If your goal is to connect researchers in your organisation or project, build an alumni community, organise scientific events, efficiently recruit talented scientists, or if you need a partner to join EU consortia, we are here to help. We would be happy to hear from you.
In addition to the project examples listed above, we can help you develop a web application tailored to your needs, create a data repository and management system, and assist you with data analysis and visualisation.

Technologies
We utilize technologies such as Python and Django for custom application development, ensuring robust backend functionality. Our data management is handled through PostgreSQL, and we typically deploy our projects on Heroku or AWS for reliable hosting. For data visualisations, we use the Plotly charting library. This combination enables us to create scalable and efficient solutions tailored for the scientific community.
Selected projects
Science HR
Science HR is a specialized career portal for scientists and engineers, aimed at connecting top talent with job opportunities in academia and industry. It offers employers tools for posting job openings and managing applications. Candidates can access a variety of job listings for free, with automated notifications tailored to their interests, ensuring they stay updated on relevant opportunities. You can visit the website here.
Science Events
Science Events is a platform that helps scientists organize conferences and workshops. It simplifies event management with features like webpage creation, registration handling, and fee collection. The tool also supports abstract submission, participant selection, and interactive features such as notifications for program changes. Participants enjoy a streamlined registration process, networking opportunities, and personalized programs while also accessing event abstracts online. Overall, Science Events makes scientific gatherings more accessible and engaging for both organizers and attendees. For more information, you can visit the website here.
EPI-Net
The epidemiology network (EPI-Net), established in 2015 under the EU-funded COMBACTE-MAGNET consortium of the ND4BB programme, brings together experts in the epidemiology and surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our organisation created and managed the EPI-Net platform, supporting the University of Verona from 2017 to 2022. The platform facilitates the handling of antimicrobial resistance and outbreak data through interactive multiparameter time-resolved maps, graphs, dashboards, and data tables. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and visualised in real time, with features for data import, export, and access management. For further details, please explore the EPI-Net website.
