Why does the human body not absorb other group 1 elements than strontium instead of potassium?

Details

It is said that since potassium and strontium has the same valence electron, the human body tends to absorb strontium when there isn't ecought potassium in your body. But why does the human body only absorb strontium when there are other elements that has the same valence electorn as potassium?
